Rumor mill: Local sighting of Val Kilmer today
Val Kilmer was in the Oleander Harris Teeter at 3pm today. The bag boy said he was “Down to Earth and sooo nice man!” Then he yelped “Iceman!!!”

My favorite movie he did was 1984’s Top Secret! in which he sings and dances in an Airplane-type spoof of WWII spy movies. In fact, it was directed by the Airplane folks. Good guffaws.

Also the nephew of Joyce Kilmer… a damn fine poet and namesake of some of Western NC’s most scenic mountains in the Blue Ridge. Can’t beat that!
