Having recently watched the film “WAL-MART: The High Cost of Low Price” by Robert Greenwald, I’ve been in a state of despair for days.
I’m buying my tickets today for jazz guitarist and classy crooner John Pizzarelli, who’ll be at Thalian Hall with his quartet at the end of this month:

The Solid Waste Advisory Board made recommendations to the New Hanover County Board of Commissioners last month about the fate of WASTEC, a costly, inefficient (and polluting) trash incinerator in the area.
Those recommendations are being considered by the commissioners at their meeting on Tuesday, the 20th.
