Slide show: Hiking the Mountains-to-Sea Trail with Jeff Brewer

Our friend Don sent this event along. R & I did some trail-building with Jeff Brewer and dozens of others last year, at Falls Lake, west of the Triangle. It was great.

Great Outdoor Provision Co., Hanover Center - Thursday, Oct 9 @ 7pm

Join Jeff Brewer for a slide show & discussion of his experiences thru-hiking the MST & building trails across the state.

The Mountains-to-Sea Trail (MST) of North Carolina is a 935+ mile trail consisting of footpaths, roads, and state bike routes. This trail started in 1973 when the North Carolina General Assembly passed the North Carolina Trails System Act. FMST’s efforts are underway so that one day a complete foot trail will reach across the state, from the Mountains to the Sea.

The Friends of the Mountain to Sea Trail (FMST) is a non-profit organization whose vision it is to make the MST a reality.

If you are interested in helping FMST complete the vision of building a 1000 mile trail “spanning North Carolina’s diverse cultural and natural features from Clingmans Dome in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park to Jockey’s Ridge State Park on the Atlantic Coast”, then check here:

    for upcoming volunteer opportunities.
    See you on the trail,
